Venia docendi for Annett Bartsch
The qualification has been supported by two fellowships of the Austrian Science Fund: Hertha Firnberg and Elise Richter.
Recent teaching activities covered the subjects 'Global Change Monitoring' and 'Digital Image Processing for Remote Sensing Applications'. She is also examiner for the university qualification tests for the subject Geography. Research focus is on remote sensing applications in high latitudes what is addressed in several current international projects:

- STSE ALANIS Methane
- FP7 PAGE21 (Changing permafrost in the Arctic and Its Global Effects in the 21st Century)
She is currently also management committee member for Austria in COST PERGAMON (Permafrost and gas hydrate related methane release in the Arctic and impact on climate change: European cooperation for long-term monitoring), member of the Working Group Arctic and Subarctic (A.A.S.) and advisor for a DOC-fFORTE supported PhD candidate at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge.
